I have a deep passion for technology of all types. My educational background is in Electrical Engineering, and that reflects my primary interest: electronics. The projects and ideas that immediately capture my interest are the ones that utilize electrical technology to transform another area of tech. The automotive industry is one of my favorites because an automobile is such a great integration of electrical and mechanical systems, and spans two of my own personal interests.
“The devil is in the details” – oftentimes a problem can be solved by demanding precise data from which to draw conclusions. This is the mindset I use to approach most problems.
I spent some time in college repairing damaged iPhones, which inevitable lead me to do some hobby jailbreaking during the iPhone 4 era. Eventually I moved on to Androids, which I have (and still do) enjoy rooting and using custom roms with. I have ventured briefly into data forensics on Android devices, but most recently my learning has moved towards data science, as my personal projects involve data logging to generate my own “big data” that I can then use Python to process and draw useful conclusions from.
Two simple things drive my desire to learn: to make technology more accessible, and to use technology to transform the way we live.
Unfortunately, due to my career and family life, I rarely have the time to pursue all the ideas that come to mind. Most of my projects are either underdeveloped and left simply as ideas, or started but not finished. This is a simple reality of having a profession that must come first, and does not coincide with my technical interests.
One other interest I always come back to is learning to live a happy life. For me, I frequently need to remind myself to take time for silence and self reflection.
Finally, I occasionally, end up doing DIY projects that don’t relate to tech at all. I’ll post the most interesting ones in a separate section.
I started this site a as a way to share what I have done, hopefully to either have a positive effect on a reader or to contribute to the collective knowledge of the internet. Enjoy!!
